GAGOC honored for "outstanding conbritution"
Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC) was awarded the prize for "outstanding conbritution"by UNESCO yesterday (September 16). The award was presented during the 6th international folklore photography competion jointly organized by UNESCO, GAGOC and the China Folklore Photography Association. Guangzhou Vice Mayor, Xu Ruisheng, received the honor, which is dedicated to GAGOC's efforts in facilitating understanding and cooperation between different cultures.

Bilingual travel guide to Be Released
A bilingual travel guide in both Chinese and English will be given out for free next year to promote the Asian Games. Early next year, the magazine will be available in major hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, scenic spots, airports, train stations and bus stations. A total of 150,000 copies will be printed.

Asian Games volunteer messengers arrive in Longevity county
A group of Asian Games volunteer messengers yesterday (September 16) arrived in Bama county in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a place known for the longevity of its inhabitants. The messengers are mostly composed of volunteers over the age of 60. During their stay, they will present an invitation letter addressed by Guangzhou Mayor Zhang Guangning to local officials to attend the Games.
