Oktoberfest to be held Between October 8 and 12
Oktoberfest, one of the most famous events in Germany and the world's largest beer fair, will be celebrated in Guangzhou between October 8 and 12. This event is being held in Guangzhou for the 6th consecutive year, under a big tent set up at the Jinhan Exhibition Center. German beer, food and live entertainment will guarantee long nights a fun and joy. Mr. Holger Sindemann, the Chairman of the German Chamber of Commerce in South China, one of the organizers of the event, said attending Oktoberfest will be a unique experience.  
"Oktoberfest is not just a beer drinking event ,where you sit down and let the evening past ,no,we make sure you will become part of it ,lots of avtivities, competion , games will get you invovled , first class entertaining creating a unforgetable experience forn."



Regulations enacted to protect experimental animals
Guangdong will enact regulations to protect animals used for experimental or scientific purposes by ensuring that they are adequately cared for and that no unnecessary pain or suffering is inflicted upon them. The regulations stipulate that animals used for experiments must be given an anaesthetic and euthanasia must be performed. The regulation will take effect beginning October 1st.


Crayfish eaters get rare disease
Some 23 people in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province, have developed a very rare disease named Haff disease after eating crayfish, this according to Health experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) on Tuesday. The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention, explains that Haff disease is a syndrome of unexplained rhabdomyolysis following consumption of certain types of aquatic products such as salmon, crayfish, and buffalo fish, and is caused by an unidentified toxin. 22 of the patients have fully recovered and have been discharged from the local hospital whilst the one who is still hospitalized is in stable condition.
