GZ Gears up on improving Accessible facilities
Guangzhou is making more efforts to improve the access to public facilities for disabled people. Media were invited today (Sep. 2nd) to experience the improvements.
To make it easier for the blind to take buses, a special system has been installed on 600 buses. When carrying a small sensor system, an individual senses a vibration and can hear the number of the bus approaching:

The Chairman of the Guangzhou Association of the Blind Mr. Chen Yang told us:

Wheelchair lifts have helped those on wheelchairs move conveniently inside the subway. A lady taking the metro with her handicapped son told us:
"record" it's ok, very convenient inside the metro. The metro staff always helps us.
To cater to the need of Asian Games audiences, the Olympic Sports Center will set up 350 easy-access seats and 34 toilets for the handicapped.
