Asian Para Games free of charge
People will be able to watch all events of the Asian Para Games for free, the vice-secretary of the Games' organizing committee, Lin Laoping, revealed yesterday (29th). The Guangzhou Asian Para Games will take place from Dec. 12th to 19th. As of Aug 28th, a total of 2351 athletes from 40 countries and regions had registered to participate. As a move to attract more participants, the organizing committee will cover the accommodation and transport costs for 5 athletes from each country.

 

Lionrock to hit Guangdong
The 6th tropical storm of the year, named Lionrock, formed over the China Sea to the south-east to Shenzhen yesterday afternoon. The meteorological office expects Lionrock to move at a speed of 5-10 km per hour and to hit the center and east of Guangdong some time today. It is also expected that Eastern Guangdong shall see rainstorms on Wednesday and Thursday. Today in Guangzhou the weather will be mainly fine with temperatures ranging between 26 and 36 degrees.

 

2010 GZ Fair drops the curtain
The 2010 Guangzhou Fair concluded yesterday (29th) after a 4-day exhibition. The organizers said they had recorded a total of 290,000 visitors. A number of contracts were also signed, totaling 10.6 billion Yuan, up 3.3% from last fair.
