GD Governor Huang Huahua Gives out 10,000 Asian Games Tickets
The Taiwan-Guangdong Week kicked off in Taipei this morning, marking the beginning of a series of economic, trade and cultural exchanges between the two sides. There, Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua, gave out over 10,000 tickets to Guangzhou Asian Games and Asian Para Games events, warmly inviting Taiwan citizens to come attend the Games and visit Guangzhou. A photo exhibition to display Guangdong's economic achievements was also held just before the opening ceremony of the Taiwan-Guangdong Week.

 

New Law Entitled "Dangerous Driving" could be Added to Chinese Criminal Law
The 16th plenary session of the 11th NPC standing committee will be held from the 23rd to the 28th of this month in Beijing. This time, the Amendment number 8 to the Criminal Law could be revised and a new law entitled "Dangerous Driving" could be added to it, according to a person working on the revision. If passed, drivers who drive under the influence of alcohol as well as those who over-speed will be prosecuted.

 

Vehicle Limitation Measures will Take Place from Oct 12 to Dec 22 in GZ
In order to ensure good air quality during the Asian Games, Guangzhou will adopt a series of measures to limit the number of vehicles running on the roads from Oct 12 to Dec 22. During that period, cars without an environmentally-friendly label on them as well as those that run on heavily polluting gas will be banned from the roads. Together with the even-odd number vehicle limitation that will be in place, the municipal environmental protection bureau predicts that 745,000 fewer vehicles will be running in Guangzhou.

Ever since June last year, the Asian Games Messenger Group has traveled to many places including Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Sydney to promote the Guangzhou Asian Games. Our journalist, Lin Shuhua, talked to the leader of the messenger group, Ms. Xiao Ai, who told us about their trips:
