Transaction Volume between GD & Taiwan will Exceed 6.7 bn USD at Taiwan-Guangdong Week

The Taiwan-Guangdong Week opened yesterday (17th) in Taipei. The organizers announced that the total transaction volume between Guangdong and Taiwan at this event, will amount to over 6.7 billion USD, which will represent a record high of all investment ever made by a Chinese Mainland province in Taiwan. At the opening ceremony, Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua briefed the media explaining that Taiwan and Guangdong have always cooperation efficiently in many areas and that the two could look forward to more opportunities in the future:

New Law Entitled "Dangerous Driving" could be Added to Chinese Criminal Law
The 16th plenary session of the 11th NPC standing committee will be held from the 23rd to the 28th of this month in Beijing. This time, the Amendment number 8 to the Criminal Law could be revised and a new law entitled "Dangerous Driving" could be added to it, according to a person working on the revision. If passed, drivers who drive under the influence of alcohol as well as those who over-speed will be prosecuted.



GZ Cracks down on Pharmacies who Help Medical Insurance Card-holders with Frauds
The Guangzhou Medical Insurance Bureau yesterday (17th) has announced that 24 pharmacies have been found engaged in fraud activities. These pharmacies had been designated as official pharmacies for citizens to use their medical insurance cards to purchase medication, but were found to have helped card-holders cash out money, in other words, fraud. These 24 pharmacies have been penalized.
