GD signs 6 billion USD deals With TW
The Guangdong economic, trade and cultural exchange delegation led by Guangdong governor arrived in Taiwan yesterday (August 16), kicking off a 7-day visit to boost cross-straits cooperation. Our journalist Lihui reports from Taiwan:
Soon after his arrival in Taipei, Guangdong governor Mr. Huang Huahua revealed the purchase plan for this visit:
"the purchase plan in Taiwan exceeds 6 billion USD."
Wang Zhigang, the President of Taipei World Trade Center, also announced new programs in Guangdong whilst meeting with the governor.
"next year, we will organize a famous Taiwanese products fair in Guangzhou. In addition, we will build a famous Taiwanese products city so as to set up sales channels."

 

Industrial transfer achieved 70 billion yuan output
In the first half of this year, the 34 industrial transfer parks in Guangdong have achieved an output of nearly 70 billion Yuan. This figure was announced yesterday (August 16) at a conference on industrial transfer. As of June, the industrial transfer parks have employed 426,000 workers, a dramatic increase of about 25% from the same period of last year.

 

Parade Held to Celebrate Qixi
Traditional performances and parades were held yesterday (August 16) in Zhucun village, Tianhe district to celebrate the Qixi festival. Our journalist Zhao Zhaoyi has the more details:
On the public square, "fairy ladies" in colorful traditional dresses dance gracefully to the beautiful music, bringing people back to the ancient times. The celebration has attracted large audiences coming from afar. A 71 year old grandma told us:
"I come from Zengcheng's Xintang Town. The show is very nice."
A 300-peope parade consisting of lion dancers, gongs and drums and "fairy ladies" marched around the village praying for happiness. Afterwards, villagers gathered for a big meal and autine Pan told us:
"we celebrate the festival every year. It's a joyful day. We have prepared as much food as for wedding.'
